Director

Jorge I. Poveda received dual B.S. degrees in Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia, where he also earned an M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering. He later obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2016 and 2018, respectively, under the supervision of Andrew R. Teel. During this time, he was a summer Research Intern at the Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories. He subsequently held a Postdoctoral position at Harvard University in Na Li's group, and later joined the University of Colorado Boulder as Assistant Professor. Since 2022, he has been with the University of California, San Diego, where he is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and serves as Associate Director of the Center for Control Systems and Dynamics.
